Like a well oiled machine, a website can be tuned. You wouldn't tune your average town car the same as a racing car, in exactly the same way websites can be tuned differently. Websites can be tuned on what that they are doing, how many people are visiting and the content and functionality of the site.

Website Search Engine Optimisation(SEO)

Search engine optimisation, it's all over the place.

What is it? Basically it's about getting your website listed as high as possible on a search engine. If your site is listed as the 11,987th website on a search engine, then chances are nobody will find you! If your site is listed on the first page or two then there's a bigger chance that more people will find your site and visit.

Do you need it? You may need SEO, you may not, we won't search engine optimise your website if it doesn't need it. You may not need it if it's a personal site or a local club for example, but if you've got a shop online you most certainly will. We won't charge you for it if you don't need it!

Website Performance

Performance of your website is a balancing act of several things, generally it's how big each web page is(including graphics) and how busy the web server is.

We know the way to optimise how a page is built up from an HTML viewpoint, and we also know the correct way to optimise the graphics on your site. Did you know that you can make an image look almost identical, but decrease the file size by a factor of 100!! We've all hard about compression, but which compression is the best for which circumstances!?

That's our job. Smaller file sizes mean less bandwidth comsumed and a faster website experience for your visitors.

If your business website relies on information being called form a database to hundreds or thousands of users, then you have very different performance needs. You may need a cluster of web servers, or just a cluster of database or application servers.
