Project Management

We follow a full project management workflow from initial enquiry through to a go-live state. Using the following project management workflow helps you get a project that you want and allows us to help identify any changes/issues that need to be addressed early on, saving valuable time and money.

You also have control of your project at various stages using defined milestones, payment stages and sign-offs.

If this all seems a little daunting, don't worry. It's our job to worry and we make everything as seemless and easy for you as possible. We're flexible so for smaller projects some of the phase could be merged together or more phases or milestones added for larger projects.

Initial EnquiryDuring this phase we will find out exactly what you want by way of requirements analysis. We will provide a range of website screenshots to help with the design. Once we have discussed your needs and requirements, we will draw up a Project Initiation Proposal and Quote.

Project Initiation Proposal & QuoteThe Project Initiation Proposal(PIP) is our proposal for the project and will include a screen mockup of the web design/software, a list of functionality the site will have, an outline test plan, a web hosting plan, support plan and project plan with estimated deliverable dates. The proposal will also detail how your requirements will be met. A 25% deposit is required at this point to secure development.
Client Sign-off & 25% deposit invoiced

Initial Design & BuildDuring this phase we will produce a working prototype website that will show the basic design elements and the major functionality of the website/software. Usually at this stage there are a couple of small changes to be made to the design before proceeding to the main build phase. A 25% deposit is required at this point to secure development of the main build phase.
Client Sign-off & 25% payment invoiced

Main Build Phase This is the phase that we build and complete your website/software. All pages and functionality are built.

Development Test Phase This phase allows us to formally test the website/software according to a test plan based on the initial requirements and signed off in the Project Proposal.
We will continue the main build phase until all tests pass at which point we will allow you to test the site.
25% payment is invoiced

User Acceptance TestingDuring this phase you will test the site and make sure that you are happy with it as we supply it to you. We will go back to the main build phase if the tests fail. When you are satisfied you will sign-off which will allow us to implement the website/software to be deployed to a live state. We will not promote a site to live until it has been signed-off.
Client sign-off

Live ImplementationWe will deploy your website/software to a live state and perform final touch tests to make sure that it is still performing correctly.

User Acceptance Sign-OffFinal project sign-off by the client is required within 30 days of go-live date. This closes the project's build phase so that the project can enter the maintenance phase(if applicable).
Client sign-off and final 25% payment invoiced.

Change Management

Any changes or modifications that you would like made to your website/software will form a seperate project. If the changes are small and have low impact then a full workflow can be bypassed so you can get the changes as soon as possible.

If changes have a medium to critical impact then a more structured workflow will need to be in place to safeguard the usability of the live website/software. This could mean building a separate test system to which an agreed workflow will apply.

Maintenance & Support Management

If you have requested a support package as part of your website/software project there will be a formal support procedure available online that will help to efficiently deal with all support queries. No charges will be made for defect fix work.
